Track Description

Globally, healthcare is contending with numerous challenges to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, cost and quality of care delivery. IS/IT solutions are an important enabler of healthcare management capabilities and will gain even more importance in coming years. Several countries are now in the process of designing and developing a national e-health solution while others are contemplating a mix of several solutions. Given the inherent complexities in healthcare and the need to interconnect a web of players, many challenges exist and thus require careful design and structuring of the proposed IS/IT solutions. There is no better area that exemplifies the need for integral IS than healthcare delivery today.
