Doctoral Consortium Overview

Venue: School of Business at AUT University
Date: 6th - 7th December 2014

Nominations are invited for the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS) 2014 Doctoral Consortium. The Consortium provides a unique opportunity for doctoral students in Information Systems to present their research to an audience of peers and senior faculty in a sharing, supportive environment, and participate in a number of plenary sessions with senior Information Systems academics.

Consortium activities commence with Registration and Introductions late afternoon on the Friday, 5th December, followed by a casual dinner. Formal events are scheduled to take place all day on the 6th December through mid-afternoon on the 7th December. The consortium dinner will take place on the 6th December. All activities are generously sponsored by the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems (ACPHIS), the School of Management at Massey University, and the Department of Management Systems at the University of Waikato.

Each of the two main days will focus on providing constructive feedback to students on their research. Students will present their research in small groups; each group will be assisted by two academics. Experienced academics will also participate in practical academic-career related plenary sessions.

There is no registration fee for the consortium. Home institutions are expected to provide financial assistance to successful nominees in the form of travel and accommodation expenses.

Please note: All accepted students to the Consortium are strongly encouraged to attend the ACIS 2014 conference which immediately follows the Consortium. The registration fee will include attendance at all conference sessions and exhibits, conference lunches/refreshment breaks.

The ACIS 2014 Doctoral Consortium is co-chaired by Dr Angsana Techatassanasoontorn from AUT University and Associate Prof. Annette Mills from University of Canterbury.
